Abel Tasman National Park

The Abel Tasman National Park is New Zealand's smallest national park at 22,350ha. Established in 1942 it is famous for its golden beaches, turquoise waters, native bush walks and spectacular scenery.

There are two walking tracks; the beautiful coastal track which takes 3-5 days to walk the entire length and the more remote inland track through the hilly center of the park which also takes 3 -5 days.

Kaiteriteri Beach

Loved for its turquoise water and golden sand beach, the sunny town of Kaiteriteri is a launching place for trips into the Abel Tasman National Park. This attractive beach town is 13 kilometres from Motueka and a handy gateway to the Abel Tasman National Park.

Motueka River Trout Fishing

The Motueka River is one of New Zealand's premier brown trout fisheries having a very high population of both resident and sea run trout, some to trophy size. A poll from over 50,000 people voted fishing the Motueka River as one of the top 10 activities in the Nelson Marlborough region.

The angling methods permitted are productive with water types to suit everyone. Water quality and clarity are excellent, wading is often safe and low summer flows can facilitate river crossings in middle and upper reaches.

Nelson/Tasman Wine Trails

Nelson Tasman's famously creative local culture extends to wine making in a multitude of privately owned boutique vineyards. In addition to a range of wineries (23 in the Nelson/Tasman region alone) there are cider breweries, craft beer breweries, not to mention Kombucha breweries. This region has high quality beverages in supply.
